Created in 2016 and based in Casablanca, "the startup Factory" has set itself the mission of promoting innovation on the continent, by supporting startups and large groups around projects for the future. Awarded by a Committee of independent experts, the label aims to distinguish the most successful African support structures for innovative entrepreneurship (SAEI) on the continent, according to a statement from the labeling committee. They stand out for having developed relevant and effective processes on these four axes: infrastructure, organization, methodology and support resources, and service offer, in order to best support the entrepreneurs who approach them. For this first edition, the Afric'Innov Labeling Committee distinguished five SAEIs among the many applications received. In addition to the Moroccan accelerator, La Fabrique (Burkina Faso), Etrilabs (Benin), CIPMEN (Niger) and Donilab (Mali) were awarded. For Christian Jekinnou, member of the Labeling Committee and founder of the African agency specializing in entrepreneurship and innovation FANAKA & CO, the Afric'innov label responds to a strong need for clarity of African entrepreneurial ecosystems.

Launched in 2020, the Afric'Innov label is a guarantee of the quality of support services, the professionalism of the teams and the credibility of the labeled SAEIs. To do this, it is based on a framework co-constructed with around fifty actors from African entrepreneurial ecosystems and is based on 20 criteria, around management, governance, structure and support. It allows all entrepreneurs in Africa to quickly and easily identify SAEIs who offer support with a quality standard known and recognized by the community.
